5-spd shifter

Post by pgoober »

Hi everyone,

When moving the shifter left and right when in neutral it has the usual resistance toward the right and springs back to center, but to the left there is no resistance and it doesn't spring back to center.

Is there a spring that may have broken? Is this an easily accessible thing to fix?

Thanks, Paul

Yes, you lost the spring that returns the shifter to center.

Just get under the car and replace the spring, look at a Haynes manual for a diagram. Will take you 5 minutes.
