Clutch and flywheel?
OK, now that my clutch is slipping, I will be in need of a new one.
I don't plan on doing the labor myself, but I will probably buy the parts myself and have my mechanic do the labor.
So, I'm in need of a GOOD, DURABLE clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel.
Since I've got to do the clutch, I might as well get a lightened flywheel out of the mix too.
So, what's a good clutch, and a good flywheel?
Seeing as this started tonight, how much longer do you think I've got on the clutch? A week? 2 weeks?
This is exactly what I don't need right now, lol. Help me out guys.

I was in 5th gear, 2500 rpm's fed it around 1/2 throttle and away it went.
I didn't notice it any other time, but I wasn't really looking.
I wonder if the previous owner didn't know how to drive a stick very well?

Did it only happen once? If so, is there any chance your left foot could have been resting on the clutch pedal and applied just enough pressure to make it feel as if it was slipping? I know it's a hell of a long shot but I've done it before and it scared the hell out of me for a second before I realized it was my fault.
I'd go for a drive and do some hard pulls to see if it does it again.

Nah, I don't usually rest my foot on the clutch. I was in 5th, and had been for a good bit, so my foot wasn't even near the clutch.
I'll see how she does tomorrow. If it slips, I'll start shopping. If it doesn't, I'll chalk this up to a fluke and wait until it happens again.
I won't have ANY confidence in my clutch though until it's replaced. That's gonna put a damper on the fun, lol.

I'd recommend the setup i have, though you may want to investigate an even more robust clutch and pressure plate depending on what kind of horsepower you're planning on running in the end.
WRX flywheels are so common now that the price is really pretty affordable.

Anyone heard anything about ACT flywheels? There's a deal going on at Nabisco for a Exedy Super Street clutch and ACT Flywheel for $599 shipped. I could get an ACT clutch and ACT Flywheel for $649. Exedy clutch and Exedy Flywheel for $749 or something.

I heard that too (that they grip more).
I've pretty much settled on the Exedy clutch. To many good stories for them to not be true.
What about the ACT flywheel? It's 13.9 pounds. What is the stock flywheel weight?
