On startup, what is the standard idle on start up of the Liberty RS (Aus delivered EJ20T 92 model)?
While cold it is revving as high a 2000 rpm, and when it is warm it drops back to about 1000 rpm (normal idle).
I was going to replace my elbow (and will plug the hole and put it in this weekend) and in the process I may have bumped/cracked a hose. To get the elbow off I have to remove the inlet anyway so it is an excuse to clean the air flow meter (car or brake clean?) and check the other hoses for cracks.
Also how do I clean the idle control valve? (I am guessing it is the mustard coloured thing with ABC to the top that is to the front and right of the intercooler on the manifold)
Is the high idle on start up normal? It is dropping back to the lower at normal temp. Or is there a problem I need to trace?
I am also going to change my coils to Bosch ones so this may be part of the problem

This is the appropriate cold-start warm-up.
All cars have this. On a cold-start, the car will idle high for around 5 minutes, stepping down the idle progressively.
2000 seems a wee bit high though. On a cold-start, my car idles around 1500 or so. My normal idle is right around 750, so 1000 also sounds kinda high.
