Am i getting HOSED???

Post by kastrix »

I went and picked up my car today which was supposed to have a freshly charged a/c system and the guy tells me its not gonna be 120 to recharge its gonna be 500+ for some stupid filter thing. He said my system has high pressure when it should have low pressure or some shit. The guy could barely explain it to me. Could any of u guys maybe help me out with this

he's full of shit.....I'm dealing with a/c stuff on my car now. I've become a lot more knowledgeable about things.

If you changed to r134a, you should have the receiver/dryer replaced. They should cost about 50 bucks or so. Short of that. That is about the only part that needs to be replaced when doing a retrofit. You need to change the oil in the system, change receiver/dryer, pull a vacuum, and then charge the sytem to 75-80% of the original charge of the r12. assuming you're doing a conversion.

I've got a post in the misc forum about the conversion if you're interested.
