Hello all, long time reader, first time writer.
I just replaced the timing belt and front crank seal on my 90 Legacy with 160k miles. After refilling the coolant I can't get it to flow and the temp is getting pretty high. I read on other posts that the system needs to have the air blead out of it and to use the air blead screw on the radiator.
Is that the plastic screw on the passenger side bottom that looks like a drain plug?
Also would like to know the trick to torquing the crank pulley without turning over the motor.

No, the one on the bottom passenger side is to drain the system...
There is a screw on the top passenger side of the radiator that should look like it will accept a phillips screwdriver. You are supposed to take that off while filling the radiator.
Is it AT or MT?
For AT you can open the little access hole on the torque converter housing, then stick a big screwdriver in one of the holes in the flexplate to keep it from moving....
For MT, you can just put it in 5th gear and you may need someone to hold the brakes while you turn the bolt.

that screw you're thinking about is the drain plug. The bleed screw is on top the radiator, passenger side. It should have a phillips type head and be square. Remove that and start bleeding. I bvelieve the only way to really bleed it well is to have the rad higher than the rest of the car(heater core is pretty high in the system) and the pass side above the drivers, so all the air comes out of the bleed screw.
