I've been looking at possibly getting an aftermarket exhaust for my LT.
Now, like just about all of you, the WRX exhausts seem to be a good route to go.
Looking around, it seems that the WRX exhaust is approx. 4" too short to clear the rear bumper.
Everyone says that you just have to get a 4" section welded onto the midpipe and relocate the midpipe hangers and everything else should line up.
My idea: Just get a spacer fabbed up. a 4" piece of tubing with factory flanges at either end. that way, you would just need to get the hangers relocated if you switched exhausts.
By using factory flanges, you could just use an extra factory flange.
Does this sound like a plausible idea?

Sounds pretty good I suppose, but that's just one more place for a ridge in the exhaust and another place for a leak to come from.

True.
You would also still have to relocate the hangers......
It'd probably be better to get a WRX axle-back and get a custom mid-pipe made.
I was thinking Stromung dual tip and midpipe by a flowmaster fabricator here in town.
Now the hard part: 2.5" or 3"......?
