Impreza exhaust...

Post by LaureltheQueen »

Arturo got ahold of an STi axle back exhaust as a graduation present. (He's the man) and has a stock wrx midpipe sitting in his garage if I need it. Will everything bolt up, or is there going to be custom work necessary? I dont mind going to a muffler shop and having them bend me some piping, but I need to know what I'm gonna need, so i can drive my car home

Already on it.

Just have to have that section lengthened. Actually, I was going to have Danfast lengthen the midpipe, instead. . . . giving you the option later to put ANY WRX-specific muffler on without any further modifications. :D

Stock WRX piping isn't much better than stock Turbo Legacy piping though.

Just something to consider, I wouldn't expect much, if any, performance gain from this. Just a sound gain.

Well, nearly-new cats/resonators/mufflers should flow somewhat better than 10-year-old versions of the same, no?

I'm sure found this in the search too but in case you didn't you also have to bend the exhaust hangers to fit. sorry if you already were aware.
nice choice. I really like the sti back box. great sound for daily driving.

Not if the midpipe is properly lengthened. :D

Yep, make the midpipe the correct length, and the rear section should just bolt right on.
