CB radio in a suby?

Post by kastrix »

Heya, as i mentioned in previous posts i have been out of town for a couple days. The suby did super sweet on the interstate!!!

At all the truck stops they had cb radios for sale for the truckers. Some of them were huge, but some looked like they could fit into our 1.5 in din pocket.

Does anyone have a CB in their car or have seen one in a car like ours? My dad had one when i was little and it made for hours of amusing conversations.

I've seen a CB radio mounted exactly where you're saying. I think it was probably close to single DIN in size, and was mounted right in the center console below the stereo. The speaker/mic was clipped to a little clip in the storage pocket below the ashtray (it was a non-airbag car so it had that pocket).

I have one that i can just plug in to the cigarette lighter. I don't know if it's a bad ground or just a crappy radio, but whenever the engine's on the CB picks up a lot of interference. I haven't tried it in another car for a while so i don't know if it's the Suby's fault or not.
