Well, I decided not to pull the oil pump and not change the front seal when I redid the rings. I did replace the rear main seal because that was easy.
So I just got back from a nice freeway drive of about 100 miles. Cruised at about 80-85 about all the way. Got 30 mpg. I also go a nice film of oil all across the back of the wagon. Bleach! All I can figure from looking under the engine is that it is from the front seal because everthing else is brand new. pisser.
Have a happy fourth, keep all your fingers!
Doh, should have changed that front crank seal!
