Anyone have a 3"turboback?
I've heard that it's hard to fit 3" piping onto our cars . . . however, I've seen some people's sigs on this board that that mention a 3" exhaust. Now do you have any clearance problems (speed bumps, etc)? The reason I ask is because my 2.5" setup is already experiencing clearance issues over larger speed bumps. I can't see how a 3" setup would fit under there.
Also, do anyone have pics of their setup?
Thanks!!

I have a 3" turbo back from downpipe to muffler.
I was custom it by Bullen exhaust I also ask for 2 resonator to keep the sound quite a bit and it gives good sound too.
For the fitting, if you will put the rear diff. protact plate, make sure it has enough clearens for it other then it, it will fit with out any problem.
I am also have a set of the Stainless steel 3" turbo back, Mid-section and header for sell in brand new.

Suprisingly, pretty much nothing (they did weld on new pieces to hang it though, around the midpipe. This particular exhaust was actually an early prototype made by a local shop in portland called Matrix motorsports, that was originally on the blue WRX on the cover of the infamous Sport compact car a year or so ago. They later had to take it off so that the WRX could put it's new sponser's exhaust on it. I was under the impression that it wouldn't quite fit, but for some reason it did perfectlyhey Zak, what changes had to be made to the exhaust to fit your car?

I'm still at stock hight. I would guess that if I was lowered any more then 3/4 an inch, I would scrape. As it is, on dips or when my car is loaded down, my trailer hitch scraps quite often.Yup, my car's lowered about an inch and a half.

Zak, i am surprised, and happy at the same time. someone told me that the wrx exhaust is too short and that i would have to lengthen the midpipe to get it to fit......along with welding on new hangers. but if i don't have to do that, then GREAT!
i am still leaning toward 2.5inch, cause i like to rally my car on dirt roads and later on i will get suspension that is going to lower the car about 3/4inch.
thanks

My car's lowered about 1.5" . . . Here's how close my car comes to the ground (it's a full 2.5" system):Aaron's ej22t wrote: . . . i am still leaning toward 2.5inch, cause i like to rally my car on dirt roads and later on i will get suspension that is going to lower the car about 3/4inch.

The first hangar upstream of hte muffler will not fit from a WRX system. you can sawzall it off and forget about it, try to twist it 180* (that's how far off it is), or cut it and weld it on 180* from it's starting position. Fitting the muffler hangers is a little tough but not at all insurmountable. it fits in at a slight angle.
before I was straight-pipe, I fit on a WRX axle-back. not too tough, just needed to wrestle it a bit.
