another question about motor mounts

Post by petridish38 »

I have recently learned that according to Subaruparts.com, my engine mounts are "obsolete" and they cancelled my order. What is an alternative that i could use instead...? I'm not looking for anything to increase performance, i would just like to know what else i could use and where i could find them..... hopefully they will be cheaper too!

Hmm, isnt that illegal? Under california law a car manufacturer must provide replacements parts for 10 years after the model year, seams that the 94 legacy hasnt quite hit the ten year mark yet.

Well, the dealership here in FL has them for $190 each....(ouch) and i'm thinking that MAYBE subaruparts.com has an error in their system or something because they are still a dealership, just in Washington state, and there is no reason why they shouldn't be able to get these parts to me... If the place here in FL has them, there is no reason why a place in WA can't get them. I wrote them an E-MAIL and i am still awaiting a response and i'll see what they say.

I think you should print out page 7 of Josh's parts list on his site and take that to the dealer, list is about $140 on each, let's see what they say to that!!

If push comes to shove, Andrew, since we're kinda close, maybe I can order you some with my discount and ship them to you real cheap...

I just ordered all my STi engine and tranny mounts, including the dogbone, for about $180. rallispec.com has unbelievable prices for the STi mounts. The service is spectacular, too. Got my order in about 48 hours after they shipped it. Boxes are straight from Japan. That's the best bet for getting engine/tranny mounts. They are about half price from everywhere else I checked.

i went to my dealership yesterday to order a set of motor-mounts.

There were 2 models available for 91-94 legacy:
Solid Rubber Mounts - 35$ each.
Liquid Gel Mounts - 150$ each.

I asked to a mecanics what's the diff. between the both. He said that both fits #1, but the gel ones are softer and absorb engine vibration better. .. crap !

so i Ordered 2 at 35$ and saved 240$ ;)

btw, i looked for the ones for impreza, and they looks pretty similar.)

I went ahead and ordered a pair of the STi mounts for $116. They should be here by the middle of next week the guy said.
