New Muffler is Awesome!

Post by MrBean85 »

I had a Mangnaflow muffler installed on my car yesterday and I love it. The actual pipe in the muffler is about 2.25" and the tip is close to 4" or so. The tip is a bit bigger than I thought it would be but the shop did a good job of installing the muffler so the tip isn't as obvious as it is on some cars. So far I don't notice any loss in power and the sound is just plain awesome. At idle its slightly louder than stock and a little more "throaty" and when you give it gas the sound only gets better. For the first time in 3.5 years I had the radio off yesterday just listening to the sound---I love it :D

I have the same muffler on my wrx. It does get a little louder over time because the muffler frees up. But not bad. I love the sound! WOT is too cool.

The more I listen to it and drive my car the more I love this sound!! It was funny at the exhaust shop because they were like a muffler on a Subaru and I was like trust me. After the installation the mechanic started it up and everyone was like wow! A guy in the waiting room thought that the "sound" was coming from an old school bus out behind the shop! :D

Actually, you have a 'Super Cat' muffler. It's the Australian equivalent (spelling?) of the US Magnaflow. ;)

You spelled it right. :)

By equivalent do you mean it's similar in function but different internally, or do you mean it's the same internally but just has a different name stamped into the side?

Hmm, I'm not sure. Magnaflow is a brand right, not a design, or is it both? Super Cat is supposed to be the Australians equivalent to Magnaflow in workmanship, quality, sound and price. I don't actually know if it's the same product stamped different or not, I don't think so but it could be.

I thought Magnaflow was a brand... I dunno. Oh well, sounds like either Super Cat or Magnaflow is a good choice. Image

Magnaflow is a brand. I don't know if it's a model as well?

Sounds good though, so that's a plus. And it HAULS so that's also really good :)
