No good at WOT

Post by mhrallyteam »

I just swapped a ej22T in my legacy, it runs great since it's all rebuilt. But there's one thing, at wide open throttle it doesn't pull has good as it pull at half throttle.

Plugs, wires, filters, everything is new, i run on 91 octane. Sti 04 fuel pump, turbo is like new.

So, is it : injectors need to be cleaned, O2 sensor to replace(no cel), knock sensor(no cel either) or some adjustment to be c/out on the throttle body.

or is it normal on the ej22t to be shy at WOT. Thx for any advice :D

Are you using the turbo ECU?

Could you get your hands on an IBM-compatible laptop with a parallel port? If so, maybe you should try to hook up my scan tool:

Of particular interest would be the ignition timing and boost/vacuum readings, I think.

Do a search under hesitation also. A lot of us have had the same problem but the cause is pretty vauge and different for everyone it seems. If you figure it out, DO let us know. I have this problem as well at random times. I'm thinking it has to do with timing maybe due to a knock sensor or possably my spastic boost control solenoid.

I'll let you guys know when i'll be sure about whats causing this.

I'll start with simple things, but i don't have the budget to buy new 02 sensors and wastegate solenoid for now.

I have plenty of alternators, i'll start with that.....to be continued
