SPEEDO FAILURE

Post by biggane »

HI,

My speedometer failed last night. Is it electronic or does subie use a cable. I have a 92 legacy 2wd. Any help would be spectacular. Thanks

You have a combo mechanical/electrical unit. There is a cable that goes from the transmission to the combination meter aka gauge cluster.

It then turns the mechanical speed readings into electrical to be displayed for you and to the ECU.

First thing Id check is if the output from the transmission is still working. Is your car automatic?

Hi,

The car is a 5spd. Any idea where I can get the cable online? I will check it out to see if it is broke. THanks
