Short Block Shopping

So now that I'm looking, the cheapest I have found is $1500 at subaruparts.com. The performance builders want $3000+. Man have short blocks gone up in price!! Any other places I should look? My wife is due next month so time is limited or I would rebuild my current block.

forged pistons, 135$ x4
new crank + rod bearings, 100$
engine rework, 200$
new gaskets, 50$

total : ~1250$ for a fully forged shortblock

Noah at Cobb Tuning has a JDM Closed Desk EJ20 short block he's trying to sell. Give him a ring, it'd be less than $400 i'm guessing.
