4EAT tansmission pan bolt tourque spec?

I was crawling under my car over the weekend, and noticed my trans pan bolts were loose, so I took my 1/4 ratchet, and 'snugged' the bolts down. I couldn't find the tourque specs, but I am hopping that I didn't over-tighten the pan and cause an even larger leak.

According to the '92 factory service manual I have, the 4EAT oil pan is held to the transmission by about 20 bolts. These bolts have a torque spec of only 2.5 to 3.3 foot-pounds.

Wow, that seems really small! Do the bolts have spring washers on them?

It doesn't look like they have spring washers...

Wow... It seems low.

I guess maybe the gasket provides enough preload to keep the bolts in place...

So with the 4EAT you don't need a washer like when you change the oil?

There is a washer on the drain plug, I'm not sure what size, but I will need one when I get around to draining the pan. I won't bother with changing the filter, but would like to add one of those 'spin-on" filters. From the information I have, retrofit kit listed as part# 31099AA091, and list price under $10, however my local dealer tells me I am wrong on the part number, and the filter kit I need is $77 :roll:. I have a local parts dealer that can get me almost any part I need, at below cost, and I am not dealing with Subaruparts.com anymore, since they return my emails or phone calls and won't tell me why they won't return my core charge :evil:
