Finally dyno'd the legacy...

Post by Legacy777 »

Well I finally got around to dynoing the legacy yesterday. I had been putting it off due to the auto and such. Now that the AWD & 5spd swap is done, I figured I'd see what kind of numbers she was putting down.

I was really quite surprised. Not bad for a 2.2 n/a with 180k miles.

fuckin right, eat off that torque curve! I still want to see a stock dyno chart. Maybe I'll dyno mine soon :)

Also if yours and matts cars are any clue to what I was thinking all along, NA soobs have flat ass torque curves that just peak late.

That's whp??? Or is that calculated crank hp?? It has to be the latter, from what I've seen, a WRX stock makes 147whp...

Anyway, yes, the torque curve (if you can properly call it a curve  ) is very impressive.

Dynos are all different. On that dyno, yes, a wrx might make 197whp, but for example the dyno i used, a wrx makes 155whp. You ahve to figure out the percent on each dyno and go from there.

Read the SCC where they compared the dyno's. They are all, always different.

You could put down 250whp all day long on the same dyno. Go back the next day, and spin 240.

There isn't a calculation, and things vary so much run to run, that you can't compare. You can get a general idea, but that's about it.

Dyno runs are mostly for your own ideas, and tuning (run back to back to back and tune as you go).

Reguardless, Josh, That is quite impressive. MMMM torque :)

I will be running my car on 10/30 I think. Hopefully I'll have a fuel pump by then, and I can try running 16psi. I'll also do A/F so we can use it as a judge for what's going on (and for those of us with big numbers to look out on).

yeah....unless you run two cars on the same dyno.....you can't really compare apples to apples.

Sorry about the pics. I don't really have a solution because of time warner blocking port 80.

That torque curve makes me so happy.

Phil - What version of Windows are you using? Maybe we could rig up a local proxy on your computer to get at Josh's stuff...

It doesn't matter which web browser you use.

XP Home or XP Professional?
