Errrgh!! Wrong. No prejudice is born with us. They are all taught. It is continually perpetuated by adults. Look at a pre-school room at play time and then go look at a middle school cafeteria... do you think they all systematically seperated by skin color and nationality by some natural magnetismsubyluvr2212 wrote:I know William, I'm not saying it's in any way fair. But I wouldn't buy an STi myself, I know I can't handle all that power and I'm secure enough to admit it, whereas that stupid kid thinks he could handle a Stealth bomber. And the old lady, I'd at least give her a test-drive to see how she drove it. If she goes creeping along slow as molasses, then it's safe to say she has no idea what she's buying...
Everyone has prejudices though. It's human nature. There is not one person on this board who is 100% free of discriminatory or prejudiced thoughts. It's just that very few, if any, of us ever actually carry out such ideas...

And about the STi, you were talking about yourself again. And notice I said ANY car you wanted to buy. A salesman could think you just weren't suited to a Corrolla SE, you should only buy the base model. Who is he to determine that? On the other hand, there might be a 16 year that comes in and has been driving carts since he was 4 years old... Is SCCA & NASA professional competition certified and drives a car that outhandles, accelerates, and brakes to 60 mph faster than any car we could imagine. Who in the world are you to tell him that he can't have a $30k car? That's all it is. A piece of metal and rubber that costs a lot. Some people don't need $30k cars and some people have that much taken out in taxes every month. We can't judge other people, no matter what we think we know. And if everyone would just concentrate on Loving their neighbor instead of categorizing and judging, we'd all be better off.
Oh, and the old lady. For all you know she has her competition license, too, and likes to wring her car out on a road course instead of flying through city streets like a 16 year old retard. Once again, who are we to say?
