Exedy 12.8 lb Flywheel

Post by Brat4by4 »

This thing is completely awesome. If you have to do a flywheel, I wouldn't recommend anything else... not even stock. The weight of the flywheel is just right. It's a heck of a whole lot lighter than stock (25 lbs.), but doesn't adversely affect the driveability at all. In normal driving I can't even tell it's there. But when I blip the throttle on downshifts to rev-match, it works beautifully. The revs climb with ease. I can't really say how much it affects acceleration because the clutch in my old car was pretty much gone when I got it... High boost made it slip like mad. So I never was able to truly experience the acceleration or lack of with the old flywheel.

I definitely recommend this to anyone doing their clutch, get this flywheel too. I was told that this is the unit that STi uses on their cars. So you get STi stuff without the STi price.

Where did you get yours? How much did you pay for it?

Agreed. I should have the same exact one as you do.

I got mine from a private party for $300, iirc.
