I was just wondering how your engines hold up out there. I might be getting a used EJ22T from Indiana and wondered if the intake manifold iodizes like they do in the NE cause of all the salt. Our PS pumps tend to rust out here too. Things like that. Any comments would be great. :)

Kinda hard to determine that, Matt. It changes by county what they put on the roads.

Hmm, it doesn't out here in PA. They salt everything! :lol:

I just want a general idea really. It's purely a cosmetic thing, I know, but I'd like a motor that looks like Jared's or JettaLed's new ride. :D

Its really about who drove the car. Jared's car came from less than a half hour away from you. Its just when and where she drove it.

Bah when you said NE i thought you meant nebraska. I was gonna say i wasnt aware that there were even EJ22T's in nebraska. I lived there for 14 yrs and saw maybe two first gen legacy's the whole time.

Phil- We'll see. I've been without my ride for so long that I'll probably just swap it in and be done with it. I'm definitely going to make the old motor look pimp when I rebuild it though. :twisted:

Zinc chromate it or use this stuff from Quicksilver called Corrosion Guard - it's a marine grade engine protectant that also works on electrical connectors and such. It lasts a few years and comes in a spray can. It will dull the surface a little as it's kind of like a wax.
