todays adventures (body-wise) *56k=no*

Post by jake15 »

got a little bored today after fixing my rear suspension (thread in suspension forum about that) so i decided to clear my headlights + turnsignals. it took some work but the look 200% better.

first i did the turnsignals

After:

how i wanted to put them back, but couldnt because they would be blinky orange foglights

how they went back in:

that last picture was with 3M headlight protector stuff on them to prevent the before pics from coming back to life.

Then i did the headlights:

Procedures:

1. buy waterproof 600, and waterproof 1,500 grit sand paper, borrow buffer + buffing compound, and meguires wax. 3M proctectant film if so desired.

2. fill a bucket up with water and place a piece of both aformention sand paper in it and let soak for a couple minutes.

3. Start sanding with the 600 grit until smooth and the "water dust" coming off is clear

4. Sand with 1,500 grit untill it is completely smooth and there is no pits/ imperfections

5. pour buffing compound of choice on and buff until nice and clear.

6a. you can put meguires wax on the head light and let dry. wipe off wax

6b. or you can cut and place some 3M clear protectant film over the headlights/turnsignals ( i put them on the turnsignals, not the headlights)

7. enjoy being able to see at night.
