Passed Emissions!!!!

Post by farfrumwork »

I finally got around to having the emissions done on my '93 SS this Saturday. I was a little woried about the full CES TBE (cated) exhaust as we have fairly tight standards here in the extended Denver metro area.

But anyhow, I turned the MBC down so boost was being controlled by the wastegate pressure (~6-7psi here it seams) and got it nice and warm before test with a hwy cruise

Here are the results:

HC - - .1813 / 2.5
CO - - 3.21 / 20
NOx - - .49 / 6

(that's my reading / allowable in GPM)

Not bad!

I then proceeded to turn the boost back up to 13psi (where I bet it would still pass!) and put her away for the night ... then this morning I had a nice run with a stock S4 Avant on the way to a day of snowboarding in the beautiful CO sunshine - - I was actually Very suprised to find that he Could Not Shake Me   on blasts from 60-95mph (and yes, he was "trying")

anyhow - the CES system obviously has a "real" cat!

later,
Chad
