How was your New Years?

Post by LaureltheQueen »

Mine was lots of fun. We had about 20 people over, got smashed, and hung out. Art made lemonade but instead of water used vodka.... That was the end of him. I made Mojitos, they're tasty. I'll have a write-up of how to properly make a mojito later. :)

I thought you'd never ask! I was even wanting to start this thread meself, I just didn't get around to it.

I'm sorry I couldn't make it~!
My lady and I went up to our friend's house, which resides on the top of this HUGE hill where we could see all the fireworks in the valley below --from Sumner to the Port of Tacoma. ..Then we brought on about 4 bottles of Bacardi 151.. and that's how it started.
The ratio was about 3:1 in favor of the sausages, which rocked, even though I'm already hooked-up. :D It all ended about 3.30 or 4 when people started getting sick. Apparently I was the only one who didn't puke that night. Only two people managed not to vomit in my friend's house, which was my girl and her friend. Even though while they were out doing that, some creepy old dude (some guy's dad's friend) touched my girl and her friend, very much inappropriately, and even after I told him specifically NOT to touch the black ones --they're with me.
...Well, he just HAD to do it, and then consequently DENIED it, (as I watched him do it.) Whereafter myself and 3 cohorts boxed his drunk-ass 'til he passed out! ..Hehe, I mugged him while he was out, and contemplated putting Icy-Hot on his asshole, but I didn't have any gloves, or Icy Hot for that matter.
I drove his truck (with him passed out in the bed) down the block and had a friend drive me back to the party.
Whew! Good thing this was all after
midnight, or I'da missed my kiss!

That's what you get when you're a drunk perv, motherfuckers. No one gets snakey on my lady or her friends while I'm around.

So yeah, Laurel.. we probably woulda had a safer time at your place.
Fun was had by all, though. I even made $10 +return (well, ~$85, considering what I did earlier..) on a case of beer. It pays to hold onto alcohol later into the night, after everyone's drank all theirs.

Happy Two Thousand and Five!

It was aight, I guess. I was in the middle of Meet the Fockers when 12am came around, then a friend and I just went to downtown Orlando to stand outside the new Paris Hilton club and wish we had the $200 to get in (and me wishing I was old enough to get in  ).

No boozin or anything though, it was a safe New Years' for me...

Stuck at a boring party where they were doing a 'murder mystery' thing. Got hit on by an ugly girl, saw a flying squirrel (f'n awesome little critter!), and got a ride home in the morning from a cute girl who likes Subarus (I didn't have my car). I shoulda tried something on her, but there's another one I'm kinda going after and that one doesn't like the Subaru one, so ... Women. Anyway, also got my WRX brakes in. Sweet!

...a whirlwind. my girlfriend ran me around with all of her artsy friends.

first to glass blowing shop for a party.
then to fisher plaza where the space needle blew up in front of me. then to the vip room at the element (la dee da, half the people looked they were were tweaked out on coke). then we tried to make it to an after hours thing with bands... but never made it in the front door.

Taken from another car board I post on. It's a colorado thing. Don't feel left out if you don't know the streets.

At approx. 11:30 PMish on the 31st I was going south on Academy Blvd. I come to the light at San Meguel behind a red neon. I look up from changing the radio and my head snaps forward and my car jerks forward. I was hit from the rear. It wasn't fast or anything. Under 5 mph prolly. I say fuck, and turn on my right turn signal to turn into the McDonalds there to exchange info and look and see what he did. I begin to turn, all the mean while this fucker is up on my ass reving his engine like a faggot. I make the turn and I hear his little engine screaming as he doesn't folllow me. He drops the hammer and heads south on Academy. I was in shock when I saw this, so I said, "the fuck you do", and I proceed to slam on my brakes and flip a bitch on San Megual. I slid around the corner of San Megual onto Academt south and spooled my turbo with my foot to the floor. I get over the little hill and see the car, which I recognize as a late 80's(my guess is 88') Subaru Justy. The funny thing was that I was supposed to be follwing him, and yet his head lights were pointed in my direction. This mother fucker was headed northbound in the southbound lane trying to escape me. He flies across the 3 lanes and turns into some appartment complex looking thing. I was going pretty fast and slammed on my brakes, thinking maybe I should do the same to follow this faggot. I decided to not dick around with that, so I tryed to find the closest right hand turn. I turn into the KFC and look around in the back roads and shit. I couldn't find him. Finally I give it up and try and call the cops. I don't want to use 911 because it's not an emergency, so I dial 411 and they can't seem to connect me, so I'm fucked. Now I need to report this right away so that they can find this fucker. I was actaully driving down Adacemy looking for cops. None to be found(ironic). I get to the Falcon Division police station, walk in and tell the what had happened. They give me a fucking form and ask my to fill it out at my house. They proceed to tell me that they can't do anything because I didn't have the plate number. Well FUCK, how about you put out a bulletin to active patrol officers for the fucking discription on the car?!? There is minimal damage to the car, just scuffing from his bumper. It's the principle that no one did shit about this, and to boot, the downright dispicable behavior of people when it comes to taking respondsiblity for their own actions. Thanks CSPD!

OK mine was pretty lame. There was the excitement of maybe being hit by stray bullets coming down. :D He He. Iraqi's like to shoot AK's or whatever weapon they have in the air for any reason they can think of, New Year, soccer games, some others I'm not sure about, just because...
They just have not figured out that bullets come back down somewhere.
Other than the little bottle of Grey Goose someone smuggled over to me (thanks Mom!) it was just another day closer to going home.

Heh, I was at work, actually on my first break when 12am came around. At least I got to see my girl (soon...) around 2:30 that morning on my lunch break. But hey, I offered to cover a coworker's shift, and I got paid a little extra (only a little extra cause I'm only part time) for it. Just another step closer to being able to afford the title transfer/insurance/registration on my '91 SS...

I was in my office, manually segmenting a CT scan of an abdominal aortic aneurysm patient, when I looked at the clock and noticed it was 1 am.

No, I'm not in med school... My computer graphics masters thesis is about arterial geometric analysis. One of my automated segmentation algorithms didn't work on this patient so I had to do it by hand, slice by slice, for 648 slices.

Yes. Relax. ;)

Actually, this is the busiest I've been in a long time. I was hoping to finish my thesis by yesterday. That didn't happen, though, so it won't be until February now.

My new years was pretty slow. The wife and I were up in Tahoe with my brother skiing/snowboarding. We were riding on new years eve in about 6 or 7 FEET of fresh :D Needless to say, we were pretty beat that night and did our partying early and crashed. I think I was asleep by 12:30 and the wife didn't even make it 'till 11:45. It was still one of the better new years on record for me. We got KILLER powder on Friday and Sunday was even better!

Tristan - Yeah, I'm hoping to get my master's degree real soon now.

Being a starving student's a fun experience. I highly recommend it.

hmm
Raced an early 90's civic hatchback with a turbo, supercharged mini cooper and another v12 bmw. Still without a loss. Then went to a couple clubs in downtown denver. Walked back to the hotel and wandered the halls picking up a crowd then finally passed out.

SPent the night with my family over at my wifes sisters house. It was pretty fun. Her husband has a full bar and had beer on tap. Drank a few, hung with my kids, wife and family. Came home, put the kids to bed and crashed.
