New Radio
My factory CD player finally called it quits last week, so I've been shopping around for a new head unit. Since all the after market units are the same size as just the factroy CD player, I wasnted to know what I could do about filling the space were the tape deck used to be. Idealy I would have a storage compartment there. Im having a new CD player installed at Circuit City but wonder if they have what I want. What have some of you who have aftermarket units done?

My L had the 1 din box, but that got stolen along with my radio. I put a blank piece of cardboard there and stuck a voltage guage in it. It's painted and textured, so it looks ok. I would have stuck in a new 1 din box, but didn't have the patience to find one.

There's been another thread where I posted pictures about this, but I used a $1 piece of styrene sheet that I cut into an 'H' shape to fit behind the trim and under the stereo using the stock trim plate screws (at the outer arms of the 'H') to mount it. I painted it to match my shifter and it lookd pretty good (though the color may not be to taste).

Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.
