Broke and Sick of plain Mac'n'cheeze and Ramen Noodles?

Post by LaureltheQueen »

Post your modified recipes here!

For mac-n-cheese:

Cook noodles, and drain, add 1 can campbell's cream of chicken soup, a few tablespoons of milk(i'm sure water would work fine here too) and half the sauce packet. Mix well, season to taste, enjoy. I'm sure this would be good with garlic powder

For Ramen

Cook ramen as usual. As noodles are simmering beat 1 egg, and set aside. I usually mix my flavor packet in while the ramen's cooking, if you add it afterwards, add the flavoring packet when the noodles are done, and dump the egg in. Mix well, the hot water will cook the egg, and it's a tasty(yet smelly) egg soup

Ramen stir fry: Cut up a chicken breast and brown it in a frying pan(i use my cast-iron skillet) Once browned, dump chicken into a bowl, and get your ramen going. While the ramen's cooking, cut up some broccoli, and a red bell pepper(can use any color, red just looks and tastes better), and open up cans of water chestnuts and baby corns, drain both. When ramen's cooked, fish it out of the water, and put it into your hot skillet that's got a bit of sesame oil(i like to add a little mongolian fire oil to it as well for a kick). Keep stirring, the point is to dry out the noodles and make them a bit crunchy. Pour most of the water from the ramen cooking out, but leave about a centimeter of it in the bottom, and get it boiling, throw your broccoli in there, and cover(this will steam it, you'll know it's done because a fork goes in with little resistance) Toss the cut up pepper and cooked chicken into the skillet, as well as the water chestnuts and corn. Add a couple tablespoons of teriyaki sauce(thin sauce, like soy, except better), and some water if stuffs getting particularly dry. YOu may need to add some more oil too if stuff's sticking. Once the broccoli's done, add it as well, mix it up, and enjoy. It may seem like alot of work, but it's not, and it's damn tasty for the price

For Mac n cheese. I use kraft. But prepare it like normal. Add in a little extra milk, maybee like 2 TBS extra. Then along with the seasoning mix add in 1 slice of american cheese, and the following spices; salt, pepper, season all(seasoning salt), paprika, a hint of garlic powder, and optionally hot dogs.

I specialize in gourmet hotdogs. Lips and asses - I love them on women and in my food.

One .99 wheat bread, one jar of peanut butter, one jug of honey. Combine ingredients...survive paying for college while working at a bike shop. I stopped using the Raman flavor packets a long time ago, starving is more healthy than that amount of sodium. I’d use the noodles for “Stirfry,” and by stirfry I mean browned chicken and frozen veggies. Same for the “Craft Dinner” cook any frozen veggies and some hamburger or chicken and your eatin’ gormet.

Picked this up in Korea. Chicken Cheese Ramem.
Add some chunks of cooked chicken while cooking the ramen. When done add a piece of american cheese (DO NOT USE THE KIND THAT'S OIL BASED) and let it melt in.

Also if you can find a Korean food store thier ramen is way better. The spice packets are spices not just salt.

For the mac and cheese here's two ultra easy ways to change it up.

1. prepare normaly but add chili. Chili mac.

2. Prepare normally and add spagetti sauce. If you have meat like chicken, sausage, or hamburger you can add that in too. This is like an ultra quick, cheesy goulash. You can also add corn, peppers, broccolli, mushrooms or whatever.

THe way I used to eat ramen was to sprinkle the seasoning pack onto the raw noodles and eat them that way. ;)

A good way though is to cut up a bunch of green bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Then sautee them in butter and red wine. You can either flash them, for crisp veggies, or cook 'em way down so they're a little mooshy. Put over cooked ramen noodles and enjoy. You can also add spagetti sauce if you want.
