I suppose one of those things is an arm and a leg to get....right?

You'd be a god-send right now......I've been working on a high idle issue for over a month now.....one I don't have lots of time....and it's sorta hit or miss. I'm waiting for my coolant temp sensor. I'm hoping that will take care of the problem.

We have one of them but not the plug in module for the early cars and
there is some doubt if the plug-in is available for the early cars
for the new scanner. But I am fighting a intermittant high idle
problem also. The coolant temp sender checked about 3000 ohms cold and
was replaced with a new one that measured about 2000 ohms cold to no
avail. Most items that I think that can cause this have been
substituted or checked. Next on the list is the IAC valve. I checked
and cleaned it but I still think something is wrong with it.And you
are right but I think it is two arms and a leg.
