Is this stock radio, or aftermarket?
I've never heard of a stock one frying but I guess it's possible. If it is stock.....good time to upgrade to aftermarket
If it's an aftermarket radio, then I would look at the wiring and see if there wasn't a fuse in-line for the 12v constant source.
If you can't find anything wrong.....it prob just fried.......there's a chance it might still work....but prob not.....

Subject: [BC-BFLegacyWorks] spontaneous radio wiring harness combustion
i don't know what the hell happened, but the radio quit and smoke started pouring out of it when i left the movie theatre to come home tonight... grrr... ends up the 12V on wire on my wiring harness to the radio melted...

((
on the plus side, sum of all fears was an excellent movie!
does anyone know if this is fixable without getting a new harness? or does anyone have an extra one i could buy???
