Now that I have my suspenstion complete, I'm looking at ways to boost
my power without forced induction. Aside from intake and exhaust,
what are my other options? I know where to get cams and pistons,
flywheels, etc. I mentioned an SVX engine swap a LOOONG time ago,
and that's still an option, I think. Any suggestions?

Alcohol & Water injection, 62mm throttle body, flow your exhaust
ports on the block and match with the manifold, slightly larger
injectors.

I wouldn't worry too much about pistons at this stage, but you will
get great performance from a cam.

I have had my cams reground to a stage 3 Road/Race spec, and that
along with custom exhaust, ported and polished heads, higher
compression, modified throttle body, pod filter with cold air intake,
and a lightened flywheel with an uprated WRX clutch have made my
Naturally Aspirated liberty move alot better!
Getting some new 8mm leads this week too.

However, after all of this, i don't think it has anywhere near enough
power, and so i will be bolting a rather large turbo and front-mount
cooler on later in the year! :D

We have done one SVX into Legacy conversion and it is difficult,
expensive and has a few drawbacks like jacking up the engine to change
plugs and being hard to work on in general.

Very impressive as we had a supercharger from Mazda Millenia mounted
to the engine. The drawback here was that the Legacy didn't have the
sound deadening that the Mazda had and you could hear it coming a long
ways away. We eventually took the supercharger off because of the
sound problems and SC control troubles and the car really was
pretty quick even without the SC. I have a few pictures around and the
last time I talked to the owner he was thinking of selling it if
anyone is interested. It is a wagon in good condition.

Alcohol & Water injection will give you a huge boost, especially in
top end power. I had a group A crank shaft & uprated conrod bolts
balanced and blue printed and that also made a huge difference

Plus I am in the process of converting my N/A legacy to Turbo.

How much did the Alcohol and water injection set you back, pricewise?
Is it hard to set up?
Are there cheap methods of setting this up?
Thanks, George, Australia.

Cheap, all you need is a water washer bottle with pump. Cooper pipe
to run around header pipes to heat water & alcohol, an injector from
a wreckers yard, wire the injector to say injector 1 on your car. Get
a microswitch to switch the injector on at say full throttle.

We have a company in NZ that builds up cams for about $250, because
they are built up you don't need to change shims or anything else in
the heads. He does this professionally for race teams all around the
world.
