Well I have been meaning/wanting to deal with this for a little while. I purchased a set of WRX calipers from a guy of i-club a while back. I must say....this mofo really beat on his brakes man. They were absolutely filthy, nasty and such.....and they supposedly had 10,000 miles on them. Anyway, I'm assuming when the moron took the calipers off, he nicked the dust boot, put a little cut in it.
I don't particularly want to buy another set of calipers, however I don't want my brakes to fail down the road. I may have poked another very small hole in the back tryin to get the boot off.....oops....yeah I know.
Anyway.....I know of nothing that will seal this tear.....I tried some goop.....but I don't think it will hold.......and it's right at the flex part. Any suggestions? Or should I just pack that f%#ker full of grease and put the pistons back in......
I want figure out what I'm goin to do......I want to get the rear calipers cleaned up and paint the whole lot of them.
I've attached some pics of what/where the tear is.
Thanks
Josh
