Frozen caliper?

Post by John D »

Well I recently changed my passenger side caliper because it started to freeze. I was getting smoke and a horrible burning smell from that wheel well. That was about 4 weeks ago. Now I’m starting to notice that after a highway run when I pull into my driveway and walk on that side of my car I start to smell it again… no smoke but can It really be another caliper? Could it be something else? ABS? any ideas? This is on a 91 turbo sedan.

Thanks

Frozen caliper?

Post by Rod »

when you say you changed it do mean you serviced it? If not perhaps you need to check the slide pins are greased well and are actually moving not sticking.....
cheers, Rod
