Which O2 sensor to buy?

Post by sullione »

Hello all, today I got the CEL and pulled the code. It was for the oxygen sensor. My question is which one to buy as in brand name? Should I get one from NGK or some other company? Does it matter? I know it has a three wire connector on it.

have you cleared the codes and seen if the O2 sensor comes back as a code. I'd do that first.

As for O2 sensors, there really isn't many if any aftermarket O2 sensors designed to work for our cars as plug and play. You can get generic ones and splice them in though.

Whenever I buy a used car I always replace the oxygen sensor as part of the tune up. That way I know exactly how old it is. Who knows, the one installed could be original.

Why not just get the Subaru original part? One of the online parts supplier can get it very cheap....
