ok my girlfriend has a 95 legacy sedan, 145k on the ticker....check engine light has been on we havent had the extra $$ to have it checked out, it ran so we had to drive it....well last night the check engine light went off....
now it dies out almost stalling along with what sounds like a CV joint click from the engine, its not a CV joint as they are all fine and its not a motor knock....when climbing hills it loses all power unless you drop the damn thing into 1st and keep the rpm's up to about 3-3.5 grand....but it still loses power what would be causing this.. i havent had much time to look at it, but figured i would post here asking a couple q's, maybe someone has run into this with theirs or something.....sunday im going to replace plugs/wires/fuel filter/airfilter and hopefully give it an oil change...anyway, anyone ever have these symptoms? maybe know what is going on here? (personally i dont like this car) i told her not to buy it but she rushed into it with both feet and bought it without my consent for some reason this car rubs me the wrong way, it needs too much work for the $4k price tag she bought it for and now the problems seem to be piling up....

You know, some auto parts stores will pull the codes for free. You may want to call up a few in your area; the code will still be stored in your ECU's memory. I suspect you'll find they're just misfire codes, but it might also show some others that could be useful to know.
The first things I'd say you should do are exactly what you're going to do tomorrow. See if a tuneup, oil change, and air/fuel filter change helps at all. Aside from the clicking (I have no idea about that), this sounds kind of like a clogged filter.

Sounds like its likely one of the items you plan to replace (filter or plug wires, maybe). No idea what the clicking is either.
Cars are like people - some you just never get along with or dislike immediately. Had a 260Z like that. The only car I've hated and it was one thing after another.
