Recall on '92 Legacy

Post by luckylouie »

Upon registering to AutoZone.com, I was taken to a page that displays four manufacturer's recalls for my car's year and model:
  • Recall 92V044000: Fuel Tank Leaks NHTSA92V044000 03/30/92
    Recall - Fuel Tank Damage WZJ51 04/20/92
Recall 94V052000: Transmission Vent Tube Freezing NHTSA94V052000 03/18/94
    Service Helpline - Information Update SHU0594 05/01/94
How is it possible to find out if a vehicle (subject to the recall) has been repaired (when you buy it used from an independent dealer)?

Would Subaru keep the records of the fixed cars on file for over 10 years?

Being that the car is over 10 years old, I don't know if they can be fixed anymore.

But cal 1-800-SUBARU-3, give them the last 6 digits of your VIN, I think it is, and they can find out whether a dealer has performed any recalls on your particular car.

I did have a recall that I had repaired before the car was 10 years old, I think it had something to do with the seat belts, but I didn't keep any records of it...

Another car, soon to be announced
