NA injector identification question
I purchased an intake manifold off of EBAY the other day. Supposedly it was a 91. It came with throttle body and fuel rails and injectors. However, the injectors are red and are not angled like my 90 manuel NA and my 91 Auto NA. They are perpendicular to the manifold. Other than being angled different, do they flow different? Are they better than the angled ones? Thanks
Reddevil, Awaiting new heart, will it ever happen?

The red injectors came from the 92-94 legacies. Don't know if there was a difference between auto & manual in those years.
They are the same flow rate ~270 cc/min
They are however a different type of injector, so I would assume flow pattern is different. I did notice my gas mileage was worse after putting the red ones on my car. Not sure if its becaused they were flow balanced, or if it was just coincidence.....honestly....I really don't know.
here is balance sheet from rc eng

also...here's pics from my swap http://main.experiencetherave.com:8080/ ... /injectors
if you swap....you'll need to swap rails as well, like i did.

92-94 non-turbos used the same injectors for autos and manuals. I believe these red-top injectors were also used on later EJ22s -- maybe all of them?
Josh, is it possible that the worse mileage was due to the ECU not being perfectly calibrated for the injectors? A different flow pattern could require slightly different fuel trims that could take time to learn.

yeah that had crossed my mind.....It may be that when i do my trans swap....I may need an ecu from a 92-94 legacy....it may just be better....I'll just have to wait and see.
