16g, a good top mout, bigger fuel pump, and lots of boost. You can keep the stock muffler, I've seen some pretty sick-fast cars running their stock muffler.

A 14B? Is it a talon/eclipse/laser turbo? If so it will not work on a subaru. The exhaust and compressor housings are very different. By 16G he meant the TD05H 16G that come on overseas 93-96 Impreza WRX's and STi's.

the general opinion on this board is that ngk non-platinum are the best things in our cars. +4s are universally hated, and i've found that the non-plats run better personally.

I agree that even in an N/A the platinums are not that great. They also don't last anywhere near 100k mi.

are you talking power at the wheels or at the motor?

mate, a std wrx from 1994 makes 240hp at the motor, and a RS Liberty/legacy 2ltr makes 200hp at the motor stock, its not gonna be difficult at all, just import a 2ltr ej20t and whack that in your car. my std motor with 3"tbe and pod air filter running 15psi with awic, would have been very close to 300hp at the motor.

 Either I'm missing something, or I've just never thought about that before. That is a relatively modest list of mods, even for us over here, and yet, with those things you are pushing real close to the power at the motor that the sti's over here are pushing out of their 2.5 engines. The difference in speed would be gearing probably, but still, it is impressive none the less. That being said: boostjunkie's old car (now vrg3's car), should have been fairly close to those numbers. He could have used a true 3" tbe and an AWIC to wake things up a bit, but wow. I'm pretty impressed. Am I off base on this?

I don't think 15 psi on a 2.0 litre (even an EJ20G) is going to produce 300 chp. :? The USDM WRX EJ20T is running around 14- 14.5 psi and is only at 227 chp. Now, even with a 3" TBE, a pod filter, AWIC and a turbo that can push a bit more CFM I think 300 is a big stretch. I would believe maybe 260 chp but that's about it.

Jason was getting about 300 chp but he was running upwards of 18 psi with a 16G, on 2.2 litres...

300chp? i have 242@wheels on my 2ltr with 16g running 17.5psi, all I have done is intake, fuel, exhaust and TD05H, and more boost.

the RS liberty over here came out with a VF12 turbo, awic, restrictive exhaust, restrictive intake, and 10psi boost made 200chp, fix exhaust, intake, and boost and its not so unbeleivable that it can't get to 300chp on 15psi? it would be down around 130kw@wheels which would equate to around a 13.7 1/4 mile.

You gotta remember, an amount of boost doesnt really mean anything without knowing what turbo its coming from. For example 15psi from a VF10 DOES NOT equal 15psi from a 20g.

That's true and I know that but I new he had a 16G. That's why I said " and a turbo that can push a bit more CFM" in my above statement. I also used Jason's old car as an example because he was using the same turbo. So with the same 16G and similar mods Jason was getting similar horsepower at 18 psi on a 2.2. Jason was running stock engine management though.

Even with all that said, I still think 300 chp on a 2.0 with 15 psi on a 16G, sounds high... I'm not a super tuner though so it's just my opinion.

i did a 13.7 @ 99.2 mph with a VF12,awic,3" tbe, and pod filter with inlet resonator intact, it has been proven with that setup to run that time it must be about 130kw@wheels (176HP), you guys can figure out the rest from there. assuming drivetrain loss is about 60kw(82HP) comes to about 260chp, not too far off 300, could possibly have had more power than that I was being realistic.

Vender forum :)

Deadbolt Enterprises sells them. Sometimes you can get htem at Z1 Performance as well. You can also look at engine import places. They may come in on 2.0 engines from oversees. Don't forget Ebay as well.
