TURBO HEADERs
hello legacy owners. is there any one on this bored wit a legacy turbo 2.2 factory turbo motor that is useing hks or greddy or who every else makes headers for a wrx turbo on there car i mean on the car took the steps to put it on. will they bolt wright up they are the same that there is no diffrence at all. if u have them do u feel more power what u get out of them top end spool up torque or just plane old power.
hey kelley whats happning. nice to talk 2 u agian. so the hks ones will fit perfect i got to get them everything eles is hks. one more thing i got the hks up pipe on will the headers fit wit that peice. kelley also the guys at the store got factory headers from wrx and whant 500 bucks should i get these ones. i dont now the flow between ours as in factory or wrx factory is it better then ours. cuz they whant 2grand 4 hks ones. what u think i sould do. then i get all the nice heat shileds and my dad siad its better to have them on it makes more power cuz u whant the heat traped or something like that

from what i have heard the hks ones have a heat coating on them that will keep the heat in just as good as the heat shileds. getting stock wrx headers would not be an improvement and would just be a waste of money. look around on www.impreza.net they have great deals over in the vendors sectoin.

I saw the HKS headers for $1000 somewhere, your getting raped if you pay 2K for them

go down on the second link, you will see boral in red, it is 350 for the wrx header, you should get about a 30 hp 30 torque increase with these, and the propor exhaust.

when nico says 2k Im pretty sure he is saying canadian. nico I get everything from ninos auto accessories. he has awesome customer service and he gets the best prices. I don't like borlas period. 30 hp for headers. seems like a lot. sure includeing a turboback exhaust and raising the boost level. hks claims 25hp. I'm a bit sceptacle. but they will help out.
so how are things going nico? the car running good.
as far as headers prettymuch if you want the best headers that are easilly obtainable in n.americe either get the cusco or the hks. both are very beautiful pieces.
nico what are you running for injectors and what psi boost are you currently running.

ya its canadian money 2g. i dont whant to spend that much but i whant the headers mine got holes leaks all over to many patching ups for me. all the sites the pepole are in usa no one has it hear 4 me i dont whant to get what i cant see or touch and look at if u no whant i mean. borla makes them now borla is cheep no. my car is running supperb fast i need to put a ball joint this week and it is a missle. fule injectors are still stock lots of fule. i punched in the fule pressure regulater and it gave a lot of fule. boost is at 18 high for 2 sec then drops down to 15hard it seems like the best for my car no 20psi no more only 4 show. ciao gentelmen
do the borla headers fit wright up. they look all wright 2 me anyone elase try them out yet so many pepole selling headers but they all live no where near me. kelly hows ur car doing still running strong no problems. hows the store doing did all ur stuff work out 4 ur bizzness. subiekid u got a turbo legacy 2 what u got done yet or u leaving it stock
hey nico. the cars runnin good. im not drivein it too much since no ac right now and its been 100 degrees here. my motor looks like it will be done in a few weeks or so. I still want to get the ej22t dynoed.
the shop is not open yet. It will be a little while. I will let you know.
I had na borla headers on the rs and I thought they were a pice of shit.
they sounded horrible. I had cracks develop fairly quickly in the welds.
I have not had any experience with their turbo headers.
but I believe for the most part you get what you pay for. the borlas are like 350 and cusco and hks are like 900. there's a reason why they are more imho.

ya kelley i hear ya about the quality for paying the cash. what u think i should do i have to take my turbo out to fix a oil line. i was going to put the t-bird housing and fan back in or should i leave my fan and put t-bird houseing so it flows more wit eaze. i got to get those hks headers some how cheap i wish my price was 900dollers i get 2 of them and sell the other one. o well if i get them they better last 4 ever ciao
nico, what kind of turbo are you running. for some reason I thought you had a tdo5. but thats wrong. did you call nino? hell get you as good of a price as you can get. mine still look like new. I think theyll last a long time. and
I drive in mostly rain. when you get them youll know exactally why you bought them. they're so damn beautiful
oh yeah, did you ever decide on an ecu?

hey nico, so let me see if I understand you correctly. you have a vf10 with a (what year) tbird compressor? is that correct.
I've been playin with the link a bit it's not bad. you can tune it on a laptop I was wrong. you just have to but a connecter link for about 100.
its ok. any ways. nino's website is www.ninosautoaccessories.com there is not much on it. you can call him at 732-557-0491 he's a good guy to deal with imho. are you looking for pics. let me know if you cant find any and i'll find some for you. you might want to think about some injectors if you're running stock. I know with my setup the stock injectors are at 100% around 12-13 psi by 4500 rpm. I found some 650 and 850's that drop in to our fuel rails but I wouldn't recomend doing that without some fuel management changes. it wouldnt be too safe nor would it run very well.

i think ur wright kelley. is the factory turbo called a vf10. all i did was change the compressor wheel to the t-bird one. year is 1988 only one year turbo is called warner ish ihi. becuse u got a laptop i think ur car would be the fastest legacy cuz i got a lot of work done and u only got a copule. put that turbo on wow u will c what i am talking about i smoke everyone no car is left alone and not just little cars the v8 they cant belive my car they are so amazed. i am makeing pic today wit some back grounds i will show or send them 2 u. ciao
yeah nico, it is a vf 10. I am not farmilliar with the tbirds. but I will become farmilliar. I am curious what turbo this is that you are useing the compressor from. your car sounds very nice. send me pics. I would love to see them.
hows the spool up with this turbo/bybrid. what rpm are you seeing full boost.
I am still likeing my vf23. its enough to out run those damn zo6 v8's hehe.
you can send those pics to blndcs811@yahoo.com

Hey Kelly, in your honest opinion, since you're running your injectors at 100% IDC at anything above 4000rpm, do you see any catastrophic effects from it?
I'm in the same boat, as I hit 100% IDC at 4000rpm at 13/14 psi . . . just wondering what you think about that?

boost junkie. no I have not seen any ill effects. my motor is very strong. it never knocks, pings, nor do I get any detenation. but I dont run it very hard. only when I am tuning. It is my second car and does not get verymany miles. lately I have been tuning my ebc ( which I have to semd back as I am haveing many prob, ems with) it has spiked to over 22 psi. I backed off immediatly but it ran jsut fine. my air fuel ratio stays around 12-13 in boost. and no other problems excet the injectors are static. that being said my car is tuned very well so I cant speak for a car that is useing stock ecu calibrations. do you have any fuel management mods at all? I do have a set of 850cc injectors sitting at home I should get in soon along with a walbro fuel pump and a aeromotive fuel pressure regulator. so as soon as I get all that in I am off to the dyno to get some numbers. this will be soon as my new motor should be done very shortly. I am really excited about that. but I cant wait to see what kind of numbers the ej22t will pull on 20 psi.
thanks for the links ryan. I will read them later. I remember reading them when they were posted but I cant remember what they said.

Hey Kelly.
So the Biggest thing you've done to your car is the ecu with your custom mappings, and a bit of exhaust work? Is that pretty much all you've done to it besides the front mount intercooler?
