Went today and put some different tires on because the rear ones had the cords showing. When the guy had the left rear tire off I noticed the hub seemed loose. When he but the tire back on the whole thing is moving(back and forth and side to side). Is this the wheel bearing?? If so how much longer will this wheel bearing last? Also how hard is this to change myself?? Thanks in advance for the help.

VERY well could be the wheel bearing, try tightening the axle nut as a temp fix, but if it wiggles that much it is almost 100% wheel bearings.
Hard telling how long it will last. I let mine go until the bearing basically disentegrated and i had to get a new hub. It was not hard to change myself, however you will need a press to get teh old bearing out and to install the new bearing.

This morning I tried to tighten the nut and nothing the nut seems to be as tight as it goes. Also does the nut have an area pushed in on the spindle?? Or is this just a dust cover.
The hub is loose for sure but the wheel is making no noise what so ever. So I guess we'll just drive it till it dies.
