Kit Cars
Anyone know if there's a company that sell kit cars based around the Legacy? My wagon (estate) shell is beginning to get VERY rusty around the edges and I was wondering if there's anything to transplant all the mechanicals into. The idea of a fibreglass bodied open-top car with my Leg turbo drivetrain sounds like a LOT of fun...

There was a car called the Dolphin or Delfino (whatever dolphin is in Italian) built around the Impreza MKI chassis that may work. It was a roadster that I believe was made in Britain. IIRC it wasn't the most attractive thing, but not hideous either. I'm thinking I read bout it around '96 or so.

Midnight in a Perfect World on Amazon or order anywhere. The first book in a quartet chronicling the rise of a man from angry criminal to philanthropist. Midnight... is a distopic noirish novel featuring 'Duchess', a modified 1990 Subaru Legacy wagon.

is the link for that company, but doesnt have a lot of info.
I'd try and find an early impreza shell, wagon or 2dr whatever suits you.
how good of a fabricatior are you? you could try and get a sandrail chassis and weld strut towers/control arm brackets/engine mounts, etc. an AWD turbo tube frame car would be pretty cool...

Yeah man, life's just been TOO busy to spend time on the net really. I drop in and lurk occasionally to see what's happening. Turbo is still running fine, nearly up to 190k miles now.subyluvr2212 wrote:Rob, haven't heard from ya in a while!
The Delfino might be worth a look although I seem to remember it being tapped with the ugly stick. I believe someone described it as "purposeful", whatever that means
