Oil pump fluid packing? What liquid gasket to use..

Post by DeusExMachina »

In the manual, when installing a new oil pump it says to use a "fluid packing" which is some form of liquid gasket. What type should I use? There's a part number but I'd rather not wait awhile to get it, if the dealership can get it at all (they don't seem to like to give me anything fluid or grease related :( )

Its "Three Bond 1215" that they say to use, but I can't find it at parts stores (Just permatex stuff, mostly)

Maybe you could ask Permatex. They make like 209834701928710293874 different fluid packings, so they might have some kind of interchange guide.
