Finally heard a CES from the OUTSIDE of the car.

I FINALLY got to hear my exhaust from the outside of the car. After our run over to the bay area to have a mini board meet, and a drive, we all stopped to talk before taking different roads home. I let Hardy and Scott drive my car up and down the road a few times and was able to hear my car from the outside.

WOW. I never thought it sounded quite like it does. It really has that boxer growl and you ONLY hear it when you get on it. It is the perfect pitch, too. It is loud enough to hear, but not so loud that it would draw a lot of attention to yourself or become too annoying. Man, it sounds soo different from outside the car.

That's nothin. I was next to Matt, who was next to a Jersey Wall. His exhaust was bouncing off the jersey wall and me, my engine noise was bouncing off of his car, and my exhaust was resonating off the jersey wall.

It was quite ridiculous.

Vikash said he couldn't hear Matt honk 3 times at me, but he sure could hear it when we went for it. 3rd gear to redline is retarded. SO loud, and SO raw. All you hear is the car SCREAM.

Our cars are not as loud as a lot of other suby's I've heard. Subarujunkie's car is louder than mine but has a different sound. On the nosiac meet, there was a guy who was running some kind of exhaust that was sooooo freaken loud. He was a full quarter mile ahead of me and all I could hear was him going through the gears. He wasn't even pushing it. Just driving normal.

I like how ours sound. It does get pretty loud though, especially in bridges and next to concrete. I can't imagine having two cars with our exhaust next to a cement wall going at it full throttle.

And cattless to boot, both running 16psi through TD05's. Loud doesn't describe it. Vikash was in our wake, and said it was loud.

To put it into a bit of perspective, I couldn't hear my BOV over the noise, not even in the least.

There was a WRX at the Shootout, had the sickest sounding exhaust I've ever heard. Sounded like a straight pipe to a muffler and that was all. I don't know how to describe it. It was RAW, really nice, but kinda loud.

Only on videos. Ive never heard them anywere else. I bet it is pretty crazy though.

I do know that a high flow cat alone with a 4 inch tipped muffler on the same basic design as my exhaust is quite a bit louder than mine.
