97 WRX JDM turbo ?

Anyone here know what was the turbo on a JDM WRX 1997 ? (not Sti)

I'm pretty sure it's a Mitsubishi TD04, like GD-chassis WRXes.

Yup, i found some infos on it, TD04L-13G

TD04L-13G Stock Turbo Specifications (GC8 + GD)

Mitsubishi TD04L 6-style compressor wheel w/ 6-blade, 6-splitter design
40.56mm @ inducer

Turbine Wheel - standard TD04; 12-blade design

A/R = 13mm = 0.51"

I Think someone here did the install in his LegT. will do a search to see if it's an easy replacement, and if it's a worty upgrade.

Its not a worthy upgrade, its too small for a 2.0ltr as it runs out of puff before redline, let alone for a 2.2ltr!

go for a JDM 94 - 96 WRX TD05 or the Aus spec RS VF12 turbo both are quite capable of holding 17psi to redline.

I read about some guys with td04 (wrx 2002) Turbo getting 17.5psi to redline with a "7degres clip" ? seems like they change the angle of the turbine fans to acheve more spin ... more psi ..
