Looking into buying a 1993 Legacy Turbo.
Some body damage and i think oils leakin out of valve cover.
But my main concern is the Tranny. The shift linkage seems to be a little off. When in park, to get it out of park u have to push the lever forward a little, and the gear inicator in the middle console is a little off (the orange dash dosn't quick match up with D when in Drive) While the Gauge cluseter does show what gear its in.
Is it common for the shift linkage to go off a little like this? It a easy fix (cheap fix)?
Also reverse dosn't quite work in the car. If i need to go in reverse I have to play with the lever around the R area untill i get the perfect spot and it will back up. But it seems to have no(or very little) power when i finally get it to go back, if i push the gas it does not speed up. and if it has to go up an incline it dosn't.
This mean i have to get the transmission rebuilt?
If so how much should i plan on speding to rebuild it?
Or could it be just because the shift linkage may be off?
Would removing the Tranny oil pan and looking prove anything?
Thanks for any responses,
-Khalil

You can adjust the linkage. That's not really too big a deal.
As for the AT to MT swap....look at one of the stickies in this forum, and/or search.
