I can't take this anymore.

I'm tired of reading all your 16G and 17lbs and 250chp stories. I'm tired of seeing the Buick T-Type light up its tires in front of my dealership everyday. I'm tired of following behind renmaxi and foaming at the mouth when he gets on boost and I can't keep up with him. I'm tired of reminiscing about driving the hell out of what was once Dennis ex24's monster XT Turbo, which is easily stock WRX material, and realizing that the owner really can't handle that car.

I need boost. I need to sit there at 2k rpm waiting for something to happen, then rocket forward and leave all my problems behind in a big cloud of black smoke. I need to hear the hissing sounds, I need to hear a reserved but audible blowoff sound, I need to watch my fuel gauge physically move when I push it :lol:

You all that have boost, appreciate it. There are those of us out there who really want it and can't have it (just yet anyway :twisted: )

Oh and the sound that the turbo makes on cold days, it's just so crisp... The effortless way you can pull up a hill... I'm thinking about the vf37 twin scroll turbo not a 16g but....

I miss my car...

Assuming Patti stops being a little biatch and I don't have too many more problems after I fix the myriad of things wrong, I'll just keep her how she is and ignore the 95 Impreza that I know of that would have replaced her instead :evil:

I'm going to be stupid and turn a blind eye to all those who are blowing up old EA82T engines, and probably build up a Turbowagon myself. It will cost me a lot of money, but I think I'll be able to make one reliable on a lot of boost, and then I'll bring some old-school respect around here, as the current Central FL scene is completely oblivious to anything that isn't a WRX or STi...

If you are around these cars long enough, you will develop a complacency about whether or not the car is boosted. My RS will NEVER be boosted, but then I have several turbo projects in the works as well. Diz, who's 1.8l wagon we are working on has owned 5 boosted Subbies, and has decided this one will be an all motor build. But then he still keeps an STi in the garage. I guess part of it is old age and treachery. We are both in our 30's, have owned a lot of cars, and keep multiple projects going at the same time.

But I do have to say that the first time you own a boosted car, it is like losing you virginity. Your eyes roll up into the back of your head, and "aahhhhh" spontaneously flows out of the side of your mouth...:)

hahah.. that's too funny! Yeah, I've been wanting a 94 turbo wagon.. for some reason, the wagons are really starting to grow on me.. and all i wanna do is drop it to the ground, and leave it on stock alloys.. then keep that thing CLEAN..

You won't want stock alloys for very long. Driving 15 inch wheels on the street definitely has the suck.

Matt - You got that right! But that didn't happen to me for a while. Stock, my car just didn't impress me :(. It felt really nice, but just didn't impress me. It felt like an N/A 2.5.

But as soon as I got to working on the car, it was awesome, and it definately popped my cherry on boost. I still remember riding in Jason's (Boostjunkies) car and getting this HUGE and ridiculous smile on my face. I just LIT UP and knew that I had a potential monster in my lap.

15" sucks on the street? Nay, 15" rocks on the street. You can do a terrible job parallel parking, the ride is better, tires are cheaper....

I'm with Brian. I drove on my stockers for a while, and felt a wonderful difference when going to 16s. My friend drives with 17s and I can tell the difference between the two. I like the 16s, the 17s would be ok, but the 16s have a good balance of grip, stability, and stiffness, without being too harsh or feeling too much of the road. My 15s always felt like slop.

17's are great. They add a LOT to the responsiveness of the car. I just need suspension that can keep up now, lol.

And you will want some 16's like others have said. The difference they make in performance is night and day.

Exactly, if you have another boosted car then its ok to enjoy other ummm... "lesser" cars. I'm perfectly content driving my 73 hp NA GL. But if for some reason I can't roll the Legacy if I want to, it drives me nuts. Its kinda like a drug that just needs a dose every now and then when you feel the need. And you enjoy your boosted car even more if you have another car that you switch between... I actually feel sorry for people with turbos and WRX's when it's their only car, you just don't enjoy it as much when stuck in it everyday.

I would hardly call my RS a "lesser" car. With 205chp and 300lbs lighter and a full Sti suspension, I hand WRX's their ass on a daily basis. And once my high CR sti block is in there and I am making 250chp, WTFO... :twisted:

Yes I certainly feel the pull to get a turbo, never had one on any car, and I'd like to check it out. Especially after hearing about it every day here...

still, I've put together a great utility / winter beater for $750 that actually looks and runs pretty good. And the NA car does what it is supposed to do very well, just in a utilitarian way. And it should last me at least 5 years seeing as though there is no rust.

Thus freeing up my $$$ to sell my 325is and buy my friend's 1995 M3 :twisted:

still if a rusty or crashed turbo with reasonable mileage were to pop up where I could get to it, I have plenty of storage space and would love to do the swap

Great, today just made my boost bug worse.

I got to drive my grandfather's Saab 9-5 2.3T on the highway. I'm quite impressed with the car actually, its roadholding makes my Legacy feel like a minivan, and that thing pulls and pulls hard at 1900 rpm, it almost feels like the turbo has more ooomph down low than up towards 5k.

Woah, wasn't calling your car lesser. I was pointing out that if you have a boosted car already... you don't always have to drive the boosted car to be happy. It was just a slight rib at the NA drivers out there, since I am in the ultra-high-and-mighty-10+year-old-turbo-super-awd-car-club. :wink:
