My moms 99 Forester is having acceration issues. I have changed the plugs, fuel filter, and filter. I haven't tryed anything and I'm all out of ideas.
Problem: When you step on the gas, the car goes no where. It feels like a lurch then promtly feels like it is going to die, then all of a sudden picks up and drives fine. I'm not sure what the problem could be. Any help would be appreciated!

Most importantly, do the revs jump when you hop on the gas?
If not, then it's likely a TCU problem.
If so, then you can pretty much be assured that the tranny is at fault.

Not really. You romp on it and it feels like the car is about to die and the rpms dip into the low hundreds.BAC5.2 wrote:Most importantly, do the revs jump when you hop on the gas?
