SWRT oldskool Legacy gallery

Post by inzomniac »

just like the title says, I found this while I was aimlessly wandering their site, they've also got archives of every year since the 91-94 season too.

http://www.swrt.com/384599.html

They've got a gallery dedicated to the 91-94 season with the legacy... for those who are interested

I picked up a VHS some years back of that season which basically follows Colin McRae and Derek Ringer through their whole championship-winning season. It's great (but like 3 hours long!) and has in-car footage of them ending on their roof on a left-hander and also external footage of them rear-ending a wall after a cresting right and carrying on with the whole tail of the car a good few inches off to one side as if nothing had happened...

Must find that video in the loft...

:? I didn't have any problems with the server. Anyways is the front bumper on the white Richard Burns/Robert Reid car factory? Is it a 91?
I really like the way it looks in the lower right hand shot where they are taking the long right.

It'd be a 90-91 body style for US cars. it's possible the bumper is a JDM bumper though.

I think your right Josh. I think that bumper is a JDM bumber. I've looked and looked at them and there is only a slight difference between ours and the JDM ones. It is hard to tell the difference, but it is there.

Is it the thicker piece in the middle of the center main hole? Because I think that's what draws me to it.

I think their bumper sits further forward than ours does by a very small margine. Also I think, although i'm not sure, but I think their driving light/out blinker spot is a little larger, and yes, I think their center opening is larger. Man, the more I look at it, I wouldn't mind having one of those bumpers. :)

-Ryan

PS Correct me if I'm wrong but from the pictures I've studied it looks a bit bigger and the bumper seems to sit a little farther forward than ours. Ours kinda creeps back under the bumper a little more. Although, it isn't much.
