fix for low gas warning light
My low gas warning light doesn't work. What do I need to do to fix it? Do I have to take out the entire dash? As far as I know, it has never worked. It doesn't go on when the ignition key is in the "on" position with the engine off. Acutally, I never knew I had one but when I read a couple of posts about it I finally looked it up in the owner's manual and realized I do have one but it's not working.

mine works occasionally but not very often. That leads me to believe that my problem is not a simple bulb burn-out. I too would like to hear if someone has fixed it, I almost ran out of gas this week as my other car gives a 40 miles left idiot-light warning, and I'm used to that.

The FSM has a blurb on how to test the light. You disconnect the connector going to the fuel pump under the rear seat and I believe you ground a specific pin, and the light should light up.
Check out the scans on my server....if you can't find it....I'll dig through my manuals and find the info.

On the fuel pump connector.......ground the center, bottom pin on the car side and have the ignition on. The low fuel light should illuminate.

It turns out that mine works fine...
I hadn't had the chance to check it, but when I forgot to fill up on the way to work yesterday, it did come on. The gage has to be WAY below the mark before the light comes on, like pointed directly at the "E" rather than the line. I was used to the German accuracy in my other car, where the line meant you were stone out of gas.
