sloppy 94 SS shifter

Post by greg donovan »

is this the cure?

http://www.allwheelengineering.com/bask ... ass=KB-003

it says 98-05 subarus in the product description but i assume like everything else it works on the BCs too.

if that is the cure that looks like the most cost effective 30 i could spend on my car as the 2nd to 3rd shift is very vague. the gate for 3rd seems very far to the left. and it is so sloppy when it is in gear that at stop lights i shake the shifter and it feels like it is in neutral when it is really in gear.

the shifter in my 90 FWD 5MT was way more precise than this one and it has 15k more miles on it and has been used way harder than the SS.

what about this:

but use the one for the forester and baja as it is 2" longer. why 2" longer? i want the short throw but i dont want to feel like i am reaching for the floor. or am i worrying about nothing and the regular kartboy lever isnt really that short.

my brother had a sti short shifter in his old ej18 impreza. i really like it. very solid feel. the "notchy-ness" didnt bother me. the precision was far out wieghed anything else but it is twice the cost of the kartboy piece since it is a whle assembly.
