Greetings from Mexico....

Post by BAC5.2 »

Hello all,

I am speaking to you live from Cabo San Lucas!

We arrived on Saturday night, and will be here until Jan. 3rd.

I'm drunk as a skunk right now, living the beautiful life of the Mexican south pacific as I down margaritas one by glorious lime flavored one. Like I said, we have been here since Saturday. Spent the first two nights in a hotel, and are at a place called the Villa Finestera for the next few days. It is absolutely beautiful, and I will provide you all with many a picture. We are going to go on an ATV tour in the next few days, and I have assured myself that I will, by the time we leave, drift an ATV. Video/pictures to come. For all of us single men out there, there are PLENTY of amazingly beautiful seniorita's out here. Two of which are staying with our party. One single, the other.... not. We have 2 houses, totaling 25 people here. Hell of a group, espically since one takes it to be his personal mission to get you the best of the best of the best of margaritas. His margarita's, 5 parts tequila, .05 part margarita mix.

Apparently, there is no limit to anything you do here. The cops are corrupt, and our taxi driver was lane splitting police officers at 60km/h. Crazy stuff. It's cool though, not a nice car in sight unfortunately. Just VW's I've never heard of, and lifited Toyota's and Nissans. I really have never seen more altezza's and spinner hubcaps, and I live in the Metro-DC area.

It's amazing out here. Clear waters, high cliff's and of course, some beautiful senoritas, as I mentioned before. Two of the more beautiful ones are staying at our friends house (Villa Lands End). I think I mentioned that before. That's fine, they deserve mentioning. I have seen pictures of Cabo San Lucas, but never would have imagined ANYTHING like this. On Sunday, my dad and I went to a store (ghetto 7-11) and got a 6-pack of Pacifico (the greatest tasting, mexican style beer known to man) and just chilled. Very different and odd drinking a lot of beer with your dad, in the middle of the day. But it was cool! Sat on the "boardwalk" drinking and having a good time. Next door was a Harley Davidson bar, so we listened to American music, and drank and drank and drank. Good times. Never felt like Mexico until that time.

Also, like I said, I have had nothing but margarita's since about 4pm. It's now 8:20pm local time, and I feel wonderful. Gonna feel different in the morning, but that's A-OK. Got some good film, and some good pictures from the mountains next to us, so I will have plenty of pictures to show you all. I truely wish you were all here with me. I have yet to see a 1st gen Legacy, but if I do, I'll take a picture! I miss my car already, but with the roads out here, I know she'd be hating life. It would not be out of the question to drive a rally car here daily. Which, of course, make me happy that I don't live here. Those who know me, would know that I'd simply have to build one, lol.

I have limited internet access, and won't be on much anyway. Just wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday, and that I wish you all the best!

I think I have written enough in my drunken haze tonight. I will post again tomorrow perhaps, if I have the time.

Oh, and if I can type this well when PISS drunk, some of you have absolutely no excuse to type poorly when sober.

BTW: Laurel is my favorite. All other women have a standard to live up to.

Wow, I was really drunk last night! I hardly remember typing all of that!

No worries Matt, I'll drink a few for you!

Mojito eh? I'll see if I can find some.

Mexico is treating me well, very well. I'm having a blast. Shot 2 rolls of film in 2 days, so hopefully I'll at least have a few good shots. I need to get around with the digital and get some pictures with that. We are going on the ATV's tomorrow, so my goal of drifting one will soon be reality. We are also gonna go jet-skiing at some point I think.

This place is great, but some stuff is expensive. Kinda sucks having to take a cab everywhere, but gotta do what you gotta do, eh? I was going to try to rent a Jeep for a few days, but that was REALLY expensive ($100 per day). I saw signs for 3 days, $100, but you had to sit through a time share thing, that would have been super gay.

Oh well, back to Mexico! Talk to you all later!

Repisado (I think thats how it's spelled) is the tequila of choice. Try and find some of that.

Yeah, but a hairy back is like handles. That's why I go for the goats with the curved horns - like riding a 10-speed!

OMG, that is too funny! Did we honestly promote strange relationships and beastiality in the same thread?
Funny part is, Steve, I've had goats before. They died, though, when our tripster neighbor, who was afraid of them, gave 'em about an ounce and half of his stash of 'shrooms. Poor things had their brains literally bleed and fry out of their heads. We (my uncle and I) went out one morning to find the goat house covered in blood from one of them bashing their heads against it. The other was in a comatose state.
So, we made a deal: There were two of us, and two goats. One of us had to clean up the body, the other had to shoot the comatose one. I had to shoot. :(
Ten speed my ass, steve!

Well.... that's a cheery little story.

I stayed at a bed & breakfast once, the owner said that they had a pet goat at one time. Although it was tied up, it would climb on top of parked cars so it could eat leaves out of a tree. The daughter of the owner came to her one day and said, "mommy, Billy is hanging in the tree..." The goat had climbed on top of the car, up and over a large branch, after which it must have fallen. Thereby hanging itself by the neck until dead.

Happy New Year.

Nice to spend a little time in Cabo... never been there but they tell me its nice

Reposado means "Reserve" so most tequila brands make one or more. Its the Sauza Hornitos Reposado you want...it is very excellent and expensive.

I like Modelo among the Mexican beers...good flavor

enjoy !!!
That beer you are drinking cost more than my car

Yeah, sorry to bring you all down. I tell that story everytime someone mentions a goat. RIP, Jake and Elwood.
My mom's dog did that same thing one time, though, when she was a kid. They left their dog home and penned into his fenced-kennel dealie (*big dog*) and left for 4th July festivities. When they got home, they found the dog hanging by his chokechain that had gotten caught in the chain-links of the fence. Hung himself.
Meh, we need to get back on topical...
PHIL! Where are you!?! Come post about wonderful mexican ladies and margaritas, and ATV drifting! btw, I've never read a more drunk post. Award goes to you. :D

ATV-drifting was sweet. I beat the PISS out of that thing! Top speed was 70km/h on DEEP sand. I tell you, it's something else to go 70+km/h over sand. Drifting, donuts, jumping, it was intense. Muy Bien. I was doing shift-lock drifts through waves of sand, and scandanavian flicking around turns in trails. Neat stuff :).

Plenty of senorita's, I'm taking today off. My head is KILLING me. REALLY tired last night after the ATV's and a lot of margaritas.

I might go down into town a little later and look around a bit more. I got burned at the beach yesterday after climbing on a bigass rock and laying out up there. It was like lying in a frying pan. And birds were trying to attack me! One flew right at me!

STILL no Subaru's here in Mexico. I don't think they exist down here.

The food is OK, not great though. I keep getting bones in my chicken taco's and enchiladas. Kinda weak, but the rest of the food is REALLY good. I had some chicken taco's in a sports bar last Sunday, that were amazing. We watched the Redskins/Cowboys game, drank Pacifico and smoked Cohiba's while eating chicken taco's and pico de gallo. Muy bien.

I'm surprised I remember most of the spanish I learned in the 10 years that I took the language. I often find myself speaking fluently to the taxi drivers and waiters, as well as the maids cleaning our place. It's pretty interesting.

That's all for now!

Sounds like a blast.

It's amazing what you can do language-wise when immersed in the environment. That's why I don't understand some people who live here for years and never learn English at all. Maybe Asians or something as it's so different a language, but most of the ones I met have learned English fairly well. I'm terrible with language, but even my few years of Spanish got me by okay in Italy. Enough to at least not be surprised by what I received after ordering in restaurants and to get around.

The rest of the food that was good was stuff we made ourselves.

We got in tonight at 2am, and I'm TIRED.

I had a GREAT time down there. My stomach won't agree for most of it, but that's fine. The meal we ate on Sunday night MORE than made up for a week of poor food in resturants. Had some Dorado and a lot of margarita's (as usual).

To recap the week: Drifted an ATV, jumped a jet ski (tell that story tomorrow), drank gallons of margarita's, smuggled cuban cigars, and enjoyed some great scenery and great experiences. It was great.

The first night, I splurged and spent $26USD on a Cohiba. A friend and I each got one, and drank beer and smoked them. Burned for like a friggin hour.

I brought back a pack of 5 random's from Havana that I paid $35USD for. They burned for about 40 minutes or so last night, real smooth. Very enjoyable.

Cheapest I found was $7 a pop. Most expensive I noted, was Cohiba's and the most expensive was around $400US for a box of 12.

The cheapest Cuban if FAR superior to your average American cigar. They taste incredible.
