Found a '91 Legacy Turbo, but the tranny is shakey.

Post by keirnna »

Okay I've found a '91 Legacy Turbo in very good condition body wise and the engine seems strong. There is some problem with the 4EAT tranny. It feels "sluggish" according to the guy who is selling it. I will drive it and post more when I know more, but here is my question. Where can I find a 5 speed legacy turbo tranny and rear diff to do a swap? Are there any online sites? Will the '02 Impreza 4AET work on this Legacy Turbo? Will it bolt right on?

Thanks,
Nate

I believe it will bolt on with minor modifications.

The electronic control stuff is different, I think. There's like a different brake band or somesuch. I don't know automatics.

It will physically bolt up, but the electronics and internals are completely different, not to mention final drive ratio.

In other words, it won't work....or not really worth it.
