original MSRP

Post by Lunatech »

I have been trying to find out the original price for my car. Since I use my car for work I have to fill out a form stating the original selling price. I have not had much luck finding this information.

Does anyone know what it sold for new? If so please let me know.

Thanks.
Robert,

Rio Red 1990 L sedan 5MT at least 302000 mi. and Spruce Pearl 1996 Wagon 4EAT 245000 mi.

The dealer actually did a search for my vin and came up with the cars history, like purchase price, dealer it was sold from and the original owners name and address. It was pretty cool and I was going to scan it in for ya but I cant find it!

Damn, I would like something like that Mike!

I wonder how much the cost equals in 2005 dollars?

just go to the service dept and ask dude, they just do a search in their system. The guy did it for me and I didn't even ask, I have however spent around 2k there so I am considered a vip up in there lol. I think the msrp for my turb wagon was around 24-25K

It doesn't go up to 2005, but http://www.westegg.com/inflation/ says $13,949 in 1990 dollars is $19,747.26 in 2003 dollars.

Thanks for the info, corsair. I guess I was looking in all the wrong places.

Well, atleast I'll be able to keep the boss off my back about this.

Thanks again.

Whatever it was, I did an average, and it was very close to the average vehicle price of the time, just as th e05 legacy is very close to the average vehicle price of now.

Seriously, though . . . nothing reaffirms my manhood like driving around in Laurel's car with a huge vinyl sticker with a picture of Martha Stewart saying "Free Martha" on the side. ;)
